Lake Apopka, the fourth-largest lake in Florida at 48.3 square miles, lies just north of downtown.
What to Know Before You Buy in Winter Garden
New construction is a big part of this market, especially in the Horizon West area to the south. Ask whether a community has a CDD fee. It appears on your property tax bill, separate from any HOA dues, and it is easy to miss when comparing monthly costs.
The builder’s sales agent represents the builder, not you. Many builders require your own agent to be registered on your first visit to the model, so bring your agent in before you walk through.
Homestead is filed with the Orange County Property Appraiser by March 1, and Florida’s Save Our Homes cap resets when a home sells, so budget taxes on your purchase price, not the seller’s bill.
